Community Center Manager

HELP WANTED: Community Center Manager (part-time)

The City is seeking a part-time Community Center Manager to help maintain and prepare the community center for public use and scheduled events.

Key Duties and Qualifications:

  • Clean and maintain floors, bathrooms, kitchen, windows, and common areas
  • Open the building for scheduled events
  • Assist with table and chair rentals
  • Restock supplies and change light bulbs and batteries as needed
  • Perform annual inventory and report items needing repair or replacement
  • Coordinate floor waxing/stripping with Public Works
  • Shovel snow and salt entrances during snowfall events
  • Notify City Hall of maintenance or repair needs
  • Dependable, honest, and respectful
  • Able to work with the public in a courteous manner
  • Available as needed for scheduled events

Job Description:

POSITION:                           Part time Community Center Manager

DEPARTMENT:                  Community Center

ACCOUNTABLE TO:         City Clerk/Treasurer and Public Works Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY:

To clean and maintain the community center building

DUTIES:

Sweep floors as needed

Scrub floors every week or when weekend events are schedule so the building is presentable to the public

Unlock the building for customers for scheduled events

Help load and unload tables and chairs that are rented and paid for

Inventory all items at least once per year in January.  If more items are needed or are in poor condition, notify City Hall what needs to be replaced

Change light bulbs in the backroom, bathroom, kitchen, entry way

Notify City Hall when main room lights need to be replaced

Replace batteries in the handicap door when needed

Clean bathroom floors and toilets at each event that the center is utilized

Wash mirrors, replenish paper towels, and replenish hand soap as needed, pick up supplies at City Hall

Washes windows as needed.

Wax floor every year or as needed – review yearly with public works superintendent

Strip floors as needed with help from public works

Deep clean cupboards and kitchen area at least once a year with the nutrition center’s help

Shovel snow at all three doors during snowfall events for easy accessibility of customers, salt as needed

Notify City Hall if anything is broken, missing, in need of repair, or in need of replacement.

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

Ability to deal with the public in a courteous, tactful and business-like manner that commands respect

Punctual and available to open the community center as requested

Minimum Qualifications:

General Knowledge of the community center operations and the yearly activities

Ability to be honest and respectful

Ability to deal with the public
