Last week, MNDot started paving the “first” layer of pavement along Hwy 27. They began on the East end at Hwy 71 and will continue West towards Osakis. Although an important project milestone, there are 14 miles of road surface to cover with three layers of bituminous. MNDot expects resurface operations to continue through the month of October.
Once Hwy 27 is resurfaced, remaining work will include final shaping of the ditches, striping and installing signs, rumble strips and guardrails. When complete, the project will provide a smoother, wider road surface, updated drainage and improved safety for travelers.
REMINDER!! Please be attentive, drive with caution and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones!
