Chief of Police
Mark Gilson

I started as a police officer for the City of
Osakis in 1986. While working full time as a Police
Officer for Osakis I also volunteered as an
emergency medical technician for the Osakis
Ambulance Service. I served for over 22 years in the
Minnesota National Guard and retired as a Sergeant
First Class. I have had the privilege of being your
chief since 1998. I have completed numerous classes,
schools and academies to constantly improve myself
and the department in the last 25 years.

Officer
Chad Gulbranson
Badge 502
Officer Gulbranson has worked
for the City of Osakis as a Police Officer since
2000. He has an A.A.S. Degree in Law Enforcement,
A.A.S. Degree in Aquaculture and a B.A.S. Degree in
Criminal Justice. Officer Gulbranson is originally
from Alexandria and moved to Osakis in 2001 after
marrying Sherry LaFrenz from Osakis. He and his wife
have twin boys who were born in 2004. Officer
Gulbranson has been a member of the Minnesota
National Guard since 1998 and was deployed to Iraq
from 2005-2007. |

Officer
Calvin Uhl will be deployed to Afghanistan on August
19, 2010
Badge 503
Officer Uhl joined the police department part-time
in June of 2002 and became a full-time officer in
2003. Soon after taking the position, he
was deployed with the Army Reserve to Iraq for one
year. Officer Uhl and his
family have lived in Osakis since 2004 and in the
Alexandria area since 1998. Officer Uhl attended
Alexandria Technical College where he earned a Law
Enforcement Degree. He is a 20-plus
year veteran of the armed forces and has earned two
police medals, the Life
Saving Award and the Medal of Honor. |
