Meeting was called to order by Mayor Keith Emerson at 7:00 PM.

Pledge of Allegiance was spoken

Present: Kip Emerson, Bruce Pederson, Chad Gulbranson, Jerry Olson, Randy Anderson

Absent: None

Others in attendance: Angela Jacobson, Lynnette Swenstad, Lyla Engfer, Joanne Olson, Ralph Laven, Stella Bender, Sharon Fredrickson, Jim Leigh, Laura Backes, Mark Gilson, Lil Ortendahl, Phil Reed.

Motion by Anderson seconded by Olson to approved the agenda as presented, all ayes.

Organizations represented are: LORA, VFW, Heritage Center, Chamber of Commerce, City of Osakis.

All organizations had an opportunity to give their opinion.

Jim Leigh asked if the city had decided that city hall is moving to the Information Center? The council stated the discussion on moving city hall has been table at this point.

This meeting is to get everyone’s opinion that has an interest in the center and the council will decide how to proceed.

The chamber has the activity of what each person was coming to the center for when the Chamber was paying Ashley Schultz. This consisted of Heritage, Bathroom, Bike trail, lodging, eating.

The person hired should be giving job duties and responsibilities.

Consensus was to have the city contact local organizations and ask for donations to keep the center open.

Ralph Laven stated the senior club would donate $360 for staffing in 2010.

The following was decided:

1. Visitor Center open from May 1^st to September 30^th (22 weeks)
2. 5 hours a day
3. 5 days a week
4. Pay is $8 an hour
5. Total needed to fund staffing is $5,000
6. All organization would be contacted to donate money.
7. An organization will be set up with one person from each group represented to plan a fund raiser for January or February.

It was not decided who would pay this person, but it was suggested that we open up an account for the Visitor/Information Center as a nonprofit group and all payroll and expenses are paid out of that fund. A board would be set up to oversee the funds.

Mayor Emerson thanked everyone for coming and giving their input.

Motion by Anderson seconded by Olson to adjourn at 8:15pm, all ayes.
