Meeting was called to order by Mayor Gary Astleford at 7:00pm.

Pledge of Allegiance was spoken

Present: Gary Astleford, Keith Emerson, Bruce Pederson, Lloyd Hagemann

Absent: James Tholen

Motion by Emerson seconded by Pederson to open the public hearing and suspend the special meeting at 7:06pm, all ayes.

Ron Kleinschmidt presented the project area and why the city is looking at this area now.

Tom Klemenhagen presented the facts about the project and the cost associated with each street, and opened the floor up for discussion.

There were many questions as to why it is being looked at now and not waiting few years, and how the project timeline is going to work.

Residence were concerned about why the city let the road get so bad and let the trucks go over that road and if that is going to happen again.

Mayor Astleford stated that the council will not be making a decision on this project tonight and all are invited to send in writing their approval or disapproval of the project. The council will discuss the project at their next regular meeting, if a special meeting is held everyone will be notified.

All present had the opportunity to be heard.

Motion by Hagemann seconded by Emerson to close the public hearing and reopen the special meeting at 8:35pm. All ayes

Ron Kleinschmidt received a fax from the City of Long Prairie asking for us to put in a sealed bid for their Jetter and bids will be opened on February 14^th.

Ron is requesting the council to approve him to bid on the Jetter for the amount of $16,800.

Motion by Emerson seconded by Pederson to approve Ron to bid on the Jetter from the City of Long Prairie for $16,800, all ayes.

Motion by Emerson seconded by Hageman to adjourn the meeting at 8:38pm, all ayes.
