Special Meeting and Public Hearing was called to order by Mayor Gary
Astleford at 7:00pm.
Pledge of Allegiance was spoken
Present: Gary Astleford, Keith Emerson, James Tholen, Bruce Pederson,
Lloyd Hagemann
Absent: None
Project #147- First Avenue East
Tom Klemenhagen introduced himself and Brian Hiles and gave information
about the project and about the North and South construction of 1st Ave
East.
Tom noted that the assessments each person received were just estimates
and the actual numbers are based on where the bids come in and how the
project goes.
Some concerns are:
Storm water line between 516 & 518 seems to not be working, which comes
from the Tennis courts.
Lutheran Church has 2 hooks up but don’t know where they come in.
Stated the drainage from the School from the New Gym is flooding his
property.
Low spot on 1st Ave E and Hwy 27 on corner no catch basin.
Weight restrictions so trucks will use the truck route.
North section total cost is $780,000, City portion is $370,000, County
Portions is $412,000, Assessed for $180,000.
Tom also went over the information for the South Section City portion is
$460,000 assessed is $308,440, some assessments were high, but this is
not including the cost for the blacktop because the county is paying for
that portion.
Council will make the decision at their regular Council meeting on
November 5th, 2007, anyone that would like to give input to the council
can do so in writing or verbally between now and the meeting.
Motion by Emerson seconded by Hagemann to close the public hearing at
8:30pm, a closed meeting will be opened after a short recess. All Ayes.
