Osakis City Council
Special Meeting
August 30, 2004
2:00 PM
The continuation of August 25, 2004 special meeting was called to order by Mayor Astleford on August 30th at 2:00PM.
Present: Hagemann, Astleford, Nordstrom, Emerson, and Timmerman
Absent: None
Project # 312 – Osakis Onward
The council looked over the drawing of the Entrance Sign and also read over the encroachment letter which the mayor had to sign for Xcel Energy.
Motion by Hagemann seconded by Emerson to approve the Mayors signature on the encroachment letter.
John Timmerman brought up and wanted to know the feeling of the council on putting an Osakis Onward member on the Control Board.
The consensus is no Osakis Onward member on the Board.
Project #84 – Budget
The council went through the budget the clerk prepared.
Changes made were error on FICA from $806.00 to $80.60 and supplies from $1,500.00 to $750.00 for First Responders which decreased the expenditure budget by $1,482.40.
Discussion was to increase the tax levy by an additional $30,000.00 to pay back the street savings account which is paying for 4th Ave E.
Also discussed to take $10,000.00 from Ambulance Equipment Savings, $10,000.00 of the $35,000.00 from the Liquor Store and at the end of 2005 the difference between the Revenue and Expenditures to go to the street savings account.
Motion by Emerson seconded by Hagemann to adjourn.
