Special Meeting
July 21, 2004
7:00 PM
Mayor Astleford called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
The pledge of Allegiance was spoken.
Present: Hagemann, Astleford, Nordstrom, Emerson, and Timmerman
Absent: None
Project #249 – Planning & Zoning
Discussion on Final Plot of 1st Addition to Black’s Resort (selling RV Camper Sites and start new Association).
Nordstrom informed council that Lot 9 can stay as is lots 22-29 can’t have any longer campers then 35 to 40 foot. These items will all be covered in the association by laws.
Nordstrom also informed council that there will be two separate meters one for each Association.
A resolution was presented by Hageman and seconded by Emerson to approve the P & Z recommendations on the Final Plot of Black’s Resort 1st Addition, with the following conditions:
1. 400 sq ft campers (living area)
2. 320 sq ft Decks
3. 65 Sq ft Sheds
4. 1 boat slip per unit
5. 1 personal watercraft per unit when the resolution was put to a vote Astleford, Emerson, Hageman ayes. Nordstrom and Timmerman abstained.
Kathy and Steven Miller were in attendance they were going to build a twin home on the lot they purchased however after the Planning and Zoning meeting they decided to build just one home. They are requesting to be allowed to park a travel trailer on the lot until the house is built.
A Motion by Timmerman seconded by Nordstrom to approve a travel trailer be parked a minimum of 14’ from lot lines and be removed when house is built not to exceed 11/1/2005. All Ayes
A motion by Timmerman seconded by Nordstrom to approve the Planning and Zoning minutes all ayes.
Project # 73 - Ambulance
The Ambulance Department was in attendance with numerous concerns regarding the discontinuing of the Ambulance Service and having first responders instead of an Ambulance Crew with EMT’s.
Verbal agreement with Long Prairie, Sauk Centre, North Ambulance needed in writing, run regular schedule thru July. Tom Frost is meeting with the three ambulance services on Tuesday July 27th.
August 1, 2004 done if papers are signed to go under contracts if boundaries are all okay it is a go.
The council and clerk tried to answer the questions the ambulance personnel had. Council request them to get a budget written up as to how many runs, number of first responders, salary they want and bring back to the regular meeting on August 2, 2004.
Motion by Hagemann seconded by Nordstrom to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes.
