SPECIAL MEETING

DECEMBER 9, 2004

10:00 AM

 

Mayor Astleford called the meeting to order.  

Present:  Hagemann, Nordstrom, Astleford, Timmerman  

Absent:  Emerson  

This meeting was called to review the counter offer of $85,000.00 to Jerry Hendricks for the Heritage building and land. 

Jerry Hendricks is staying at the $75,000.00 cash offer. 

Marcotte’s offer is still on the table, $100,000.00 - $500.00 down contract for deed. 

A motion by Timmerman seconded by Hagemann to accept the offer from Jerry Hendricks for $75,000.00 cash with a larger earnest money check of $2,500.00.  All Ayes, Emerson absent. 

Councilmember Timmerman stated the city should do a Comprehensive Plan in the next several years.  Also, he would like the city to be more aggressive in bringing new business to town to support the area housing projects.  Probably discuss the topic further at the January meeting and then set up a meeting with other organizations ( O.E.D.C. EDA, Planning & Zoning so everyone can voice where they would like to see Osakis in the next 5 to 10 years.  

Councilmember Nordstrom reported on the S.R.W.S. meeting.  They made a mistake on JD 2 and have hired another Engineer to correct the problem.  He also stated to look for more pond projects in the future.  

A motion by Hagemann seconded by Nordstrom to adjourn.  All Ayes, Emerson absent.  Meeting adjourned 11:15 AM.
